Yeah, I know... it's like nobody knows how any of it works. I mean, aside from the parts we've been able to figure out on our own. But... [He follows that lead, head tilting back.] There's gotta be a reason for it all. There's just no way that it just happens.

It feels like... I dunno, someone's well kept secret. Like... a mystery or something that we need to figure out. We just don't have the right clues or something.

This is the most complex place I've ever seen - and considering where I come from, that's no small statement. If I had my abilities, I could do more, but as of now...

{She shrugs, and looks back out at the sea.} Research is all I can do, and that isn't terribly productive.

[He doesn't really move at that, though his eyes open to see who's sniffing him. At least he's pretty used to this kind of stuff by now. He's not sure what else he can say -- he knows that, and he's sure Nanao knows he would do just the same.]
