The usual. Y'know, Christmas, New Year's, training and such. Funny how one gets used to Johto's routine!

It gets difficult when stuff like this keeps happening.

I've been... doing okay, I suppose. Apart from this incident, things have been going quite smoothly.

That's right. Disappearances aren't unusual, but this many people all disappearing at the same time is.

{Then thoughtfully:} If it is, it is very disturbing. I've been keeping count, and at least fifteen people have disappeared since yesterday morning. That is... unusual, to say the least.

{Wincing a little at the volume of that yell.} Yes. Which puts this rather beyond the realms of coincidence and into the realm of "something is very badly wrong".

[This actually makes him think about it for a moment, and when he speaks again, he sounds a little more cautious than just a few seconds ago.]

If you put it that way... you might be onto something.

We know this place has glitched up before - those periods where we cannot remember anything, and I have heard bad things about the Halloween before last, too. What is to say that this is another, rather more disastrous glitch?

... Well, all sorts of weird shit happen here all the time, so can't say that'd surprise me. And we can't really prepare for it if we don't know what's coming.

Therein lies the problem. We don't know what's coming, short of maybe finding a Pokemon with precognition.

[For one reason or another, the mention of that causes Crow to make a face.]

No one can predict the future, Pokémon included.

[But, back to his usual confident grin now!]

This just means we've gotta be ready to take on whatever comes!

{She's been studying her PokeDex, and she isn't quite so sure that you're right there.... ~~honestly she just thinks that it's be nice to have a hint of what's happening in advance~~}

I've been in that state for a while now, and I can tell you that it's rather exhausting after a while.

[Whatever the PokéDex says, Crow's not gonna accept anything that could suggest the future is set and can be predicted anyway.]

[He can tell by her tone, yeah. Crow may or may not be rolling his eyes a little at his end.]

When he speaks up again, his voice is much more serious than just a moment ago.]

You're right; I've got no idea what you've been through. From the sound of it, it must have been tough, I get that much.

... But that's exactly why you shouldn't worry so much.

[His tone shifts after that; although still firm, there's a much more optimistic note to it.]

Because if you believe in the future, no matter how much pain and sorrow you suffer though, you can keep hoping for a brighter tomorrow and live your life stronger than you were ever before!
