Kiyone gently runs a three-fingered hand over his unstirring mistress’ bandaged head, delicately trying to probe into her mind, but upon being blocked once again by a mysterious barrier, he sighs and gets up, wandering over to the window. Shinrai moves closer to Nanao’s unmoving form and squeaks as the elder Pokemon throws wide the curtains, letting beams of summer sunlight flood the room, gilding everything inside with a welcome warmth.

Ri? Rioluuuu.

Kiyone looks back over his shoulder at the baby ‘Mon, and smiles gently. It had not been an easy time for the youngest member of Nanao’s party, but the Riolu was nothing if not resilient. Even if he couldn’t walk. After Envy’s Pokemon had brought them into Ecruteak, Shinrai had tearfully explained what had happened to them, and to say they were unhappy was an understatement.

Aaaala. Kazam.

Shinrai smiled back, and threw his arms into the air, giggling. The noise woke Hanatarou, who had been curled up atop a nearby chair, and she stretched, before slithering off the chair and flowing like a furry river up onto the bed, and nuzzled the young Riolu, and he giggled again. Then he stopped, and cocked his head to the side.

{There’s a deep, pained-sounding groan coming from somewhere to the left of the ‘Gear, and the sound of shifting sheets.}

wh-where am I.... s’too bright... {A whimper, more rustling sounds, and then a yelp, and a thud.}

O-owwwww.... {There’s a sob, and then the camera finally moves, and Nanao comes into view, far too pale, wrapped in bedsheets, and with bandages wrapped around her head.}

I - I feel sick...

{OOC: Nanao is awake! But she’s also suffering the side effects of a severe concussion, so any ‘Gear replies will be rather nonsensical. She’s in a room at the Ecruteak Inn, so if you’re in the building, feel free to have your characters drop by.}

_{[He fails to move though, and distractedly keeps petting the pup. TULIO is CONFUSED.]}

{Who knows. Why are so many Pokemon proportioned weirdly, now that's a question.}

_{[Mumbling it with a frown. He's been patient with you so far, pup, but snuffles are a little outside his comfort zone. So he just picks the puppy up, turns him 180 degrees, and places him with his face towards his knees rather than his stomach.]

[And then looks up at the Psychic-type with a relieved expression.]}

{And Kiyone sets his mug down.}

Her mind is... tumultuous at the moment. Whatever happened to her, it has affected her memories in a way that I had not anticipated.

Probably. At least now I can read her properly - before, there was some kind of block across her mind. It was like she was... dead, I would have to say, even though "death" to us is a foreign concept.

{Shinrai's watching worriedly too, from his position by Nanao's knees. One good thrash and he'll be flying!}

{And a faint glow can be seen in Kiyone's eyes, and around the spoons.}

_{[So spooky. :| But he'll keep watching in fascination and horror. He stopped petting the pup, didn't even realize it.]}

{The pup is pretty much frozen in terror right now, anyway.}

{And the glow redoubles, and delicate traceries of energy spiral up from the spoons and his eyes, and Nanao whimpers a little.}

_{[SO HOW DID HE GET TO THIS ANYWAY. He would probably be more stressed out if he'd actually seen the High Priest use magic to control that enormous stone jaguar, but as it stands now he's just mostly creeped out and not freaking out, so. That's. Something. Just. Staring. Yeah.]}

{Because he didn't leave when Kiyone gave him the chance. And is that a hum in the air? Yeah, that's definitely a hum, and Nanao is whining. Whatever Kiyone's doing, it can't be comfortable for her...}
