Well, at least the nausea's gone. And the headache's receded to a tolerable level. And I can mostly remember things. {She grimaces.} It's a pity my balance is still off, but at least that's not as bad as the light sensitivity. I really don't like that.

{She shifts about, and cocks her head to the side, listening to the sounds of the crowded streets, and she frowns a little.} I wonder what's going on... Well, no better time to ask.

Excuse me! {She calls out into the street, and miraculously, some poor man with blonde hair and a lovely purple yukata responds. Those who've faced the Ecruteak Gym might know him - it's the gym leader, Morty.}

Yes, ma'am, can I help you?

Thank you. Ah, I was wondering, what is the occasion today? There is so much hubbub, and since, well... {She gestures to her face, and smiles.}

No, that's no problem. Today is Tanabata - we always have a few street vendors out on this day.

Good day, sir. {He bows politely, she does too out of instinct, and he wanders off, and Nanao is left alone, sitting on the verandah of the Inn.}

Tanabata already..? Well now, that's a surprise. Another year has passed, and I've survived it.... just. {She raises a hand to her mouth, and chokes back a sob.} T-to think.... N-no. I'm not going back there. I'm stronger than that.

{She sniffs, straightens her spine, and brushes down the lap of her pale blue yukata.} I'm one hundred and thirty-seven today. I think that I shall enjoy my birthday this year, instead of hiding inside.

{She stands gingerly, reaching out a hand to the nearby wall of the Inn for support. Slowly, moving one foot at a time, she makes it back to her darkened room, the door thumps gently against something. Frowning, she slips inside, and removes the blindfold, letting her eyes adjust. And then she gasps.}

I - I - what. How did this - how are there so many - ? {She is, of course, talking about eggs, which are all over the room. Her Alakazam and Furret freeze, in the middle of putting an egg onto the bed.} I - I don't even know. Wow. Um.

What a birthday present. {Annnd the feed finally times out.}

Pokemon are such confusing creatures, I can't image them getting out of the box so easily.

Well, I do own a fully-evolved Psychic type....

{And when the Magnemite points towards it, Nanao moves her hand vaguely over the approximate area containing the Lapras egg.}

No - unfortunately I must sell them all.

Psychic types...I've yet to see one in my travels.

[OHH! Magmemite is super happy to hear that. He's really wanting a travel companion right now.]

I suppose I can't avoid the incessant nagging of my pokemon. Can I send you some money in order to have one of those eggs sent to Cherrygrove City?

They are quite rare in the wild, I'll give you that.

{And Nanao smiles at the Magnemite, and Sasha.}

Maybe one day I'll find one for myself then. My homeworld has psychic, so I'd like to compare the skill level between a human psychic to that of a pokemon.

[He manages a small smile back, which is really hard for Sasha to do, since lol emotions are unnecessary to him.]

How about one of those blue spotted ones? [And he's pointing at a Lapras egg calmly.]

Well, I know you can find Abra to the south of Goldenrod - so that may be something that you might want to look into.

{Annnd picking up the requested egg.}
