12th book; OUTBREAK [dated to the 16th] {video/action for saffron}

{The scene in front of the 'Gear's lens when it comes on is a little unusual, to say the least.}

KIYONE! Put me dowwn, you no-good Psychic! {Nanao is dangling in the air. This isn't that unusual, except for the fact that it looks like she's been dusted with shimmer powder all over. That, and she seems to be mispronouncing her "w" sounds.}

I swwear to god, if you drop me in that pond I wwill flay you alivve, you bloody Alakazam--! {She's dangling over a deepish fountain in one of Saffron's parks. Seems her "v" sounds have also been affected. Despite being held firmly, she's thrashing about like her life depends on it (it doesn't, but she doesn't know that), once-black, now deep blue hair flying about all over the place.} You utter bastard, you knoww I can't swwim!

{Kiyone pays her no mind, and drops her in. She sinks like a stone.}

{Silence fills the park, and the surface of the water smooths to a glassy finish.}

{The 'Gear is promptly dropped, and the Blaziken who had been filming strides over to the fountain, peering in to the depths. Kiyone floats down beside her, trying to fish his trainer by Psychic means.}

{Suddenly, there's an almighty splash, and Kiyone gets knocked right out of the sky and onto the dirt by a very wet and very annoyed Nanao.}

I wwarned you--! {Cue a chase which is best visualised by listening to this song. Needless to say, it involves Nanao running around after Kiyone, spitting copious amounts of Bubbles at said Alakazam, and accidentally summoning a rainstorm, which shorts out the 'Gear. You're welcome.}

{OOC: Nanao has level one water powers, and rather resembles a Naiad. Shiny skin, blue hair, and a really low Attack stat. And E-Rank luck. Video replies will come ICly about an hour later.}

[Hey, Momthing. You might wanna stop with the yakety-sax right about now and duck. Why? Because there's an Ice Beam flying your way and it's going to hit something...which it does. At least a frozen Kiyone makes for an easy target?

Though perhaps the better question is, where'd the Ice Beam come from? Well, that has a simple answer if you'll just look over at where it came from, because...yep. Hitsugaya's right there, just sitting on the ground and shaking out his hand now. Don't mind the pale blue tinge to his skin, Nanao, or the fact that his fingers look frozen. Nothing to see here! ...Just...almost glowing pale blue eyes. whoops?]

{The Ice Beam just barely misses her, and on instinct, she swirls around and shoots a Water Gun back at him.}

{It doesn't even make it halfway to him. Whoops.}

[A nod as he pushes himself up, still shaking out his hand. No guesses where that Ice Beam came from now!]

You don't have to sound so surprised.

{Nope, not any more. She glances between him and Kiyone a few times, then sort of.}

{Well.}

{Gliding would be the most accurate term, as she slides across the ground on a small puddle of water. Very graceful.}

I should have guessed that you'd get ice powers, if it ever happened.

[Well, at least she's not freaking out on him. The gliding he can deal with; it's nothing in comparison to the markings hidden under his clothes. There's a reason he's wearing his one long sleeve today!]

Perhaps. But Hina seemed less pleased with the idea than you do.

[She growled at him. Actually growled. To say nothing of the rest of his team.]

She's a fire-type, I guess it's to be expected.

{She glances over her shoulder - Charmeuse has taken shelter under a tree.}

Charmeuse isn't particularly happy about my abilities, either.

Growling and hiding in a corner from ice-type abilities isn't something I'd expect from a fire-type, Ise. She looked like she was going to bite my head off if I got close.

[By jaw size alone, she'd have been capable, too.

Glancing at Charmeuse now. See, that reaction is understandable.]

Considering the amount of water you were throwing around, I can't blame her for hiding.

See, there's your answer. She doesn't want to hurt you.

{She shrugs.} She's a big girl, she can take care of herself.

And yet she acted like I was the one who was going to hurt her if I approached. I doubt that's a response brought about by concern or worry, Ise.

[Severely doubts it. Even he has enough people skills to know that much...and that Charmeuse probably won't come out of there for a while. Oh, goodness...]

Against their own weaknesses? Not much can actually take care of itself. There's a reason people stress type advantages for battles here.

[And he kind of knows how she feels. The one time he had to deal with a fire user back home...urgh. That was not something he appreciated.]

.....considering you froze Kiyone solid, I'd say that maybe she's right to be concerned.

{Charmeuse will be... sneaking sneakily over to Kiyone. Psybro??}

Levels still play a big role in most things, you know.

Kiyone isn't a fire-type. I doubt it would work the same way on Hina. [No, there's something else about this. He just can't put his finger on the "what", exactly.

Kiyone should be fine, really! It wasn't any kind of killing blow! .....or at least, so Hitsugaya hopes, anyway.]

Perhaps, but that doesn't stop it from hurting if you're slammed with a weakness. Avoiding pain can make almost any living creature act oddly.

{She frowns, and kneels down next to him. Long sleeves in summertime = he's hiding something.}

{Meanwhile, Charmeuse is veeeery carefully trying to melt the ice around Kiyone. 8(( psybroooo!!}

This is true.

[Have some blinking, Momthing. See his arms--oh, right. The sleeves. Fine, fine. He'll just be rolling them up now and...yep. Beyond fingers that are a rather fetching shade of blue, the skin up to his elbows seems to be frosted clean over, like fresh ice over a bed of snow. See? Sleeves were for a reason...especially since it's freezing cold to the touch, too.

He's...not saying anything. But you better not freak out on him!]

{She certainly pauses for a moment - surely she would have felt the cold? - and then rests her hand on his. Tiny ice crystals creep up from where she's touching him, but it doesn't feel painful, just cool.}

{Looking up at him;}

It's fitting, at least.

[Oh, good. She's not freaking out. That's a relief. No freaking out about this probably means she won't freak out about the bandages on his shoulder...probably. The ice on his arms wasn't the only reason he chose the long sleeve today!]

I suppose so. [looking at her hand and..yep. frowny face.] Your hand, Ise.

Wwater is resistant to Ice, Hitsugaya-kun. {Nevertheless, she lifts it, flexes her fingers, and watches tiny ice crystals fall away, melting back into the slick slime that coats her skin.}

No sense in taking chances. [Because what is ice but frozen water? He doesn't want to freeze her like he froze Kiyone, after all. Which is why he'll be rolling his sleeves back down now, ignoring the strain of healing skin and bandaging like a pro.] I doubt you want to end up like your Alakazam did.

Hm. {She looks over to where Kiyone is now mostly ice-free thanks to Charmeuse's careful efforts, and then back at him.}

Worse things have happened to me, I guess.

[He tilts his head at that; worse things have happened than being frozen, but...eh. Her luck can't be that bad, can it?]

Perhaps. But you should still avoid the Mareeps until this blows over.

[Because if last time was bad, this time? ...Whoo boy it wouldn't be pretty.]

[And if Kiyone happens to pass by a certain tree in the park, there will be a Water Gun attack aimed out of the branches at him. Envy has been taking advantage of not only no longer feeling terrible and being stuck inside, but also his newfound powers. And now he can help his deadsis out with them!]

[After the attack, he quickly climbs down out of the tree in case there's still chasing to be done. He's got light blue splotches down the sides of his arms, and one more diamond-shaped one on his forehead. His hair hasn't changed color or anything, but it is dripping wet down his back and looking like something that came out of a lake.]

So you wound up with water too, I see.

{Nanao narrows her eyes and suddenly darts forward, slamming into Kiyone, sending the Alakazam flying forward.}

Yep! It's not very powerful, but it's enough.

[Envy sends one more Water Gun over her head at Kiyone as she does that, but then holds back on the attacks now that he might hit her with them; he doesn't have the greatest control over them just yet.]

What did he do, anyway?

[He being Kiyone. Envy'd just...assumed it was something. Join the chase first and ask questions later, yep.]

{Waving vaguely at the fountain.}

He dropped me in there.

_{[Jack has no idea what he is even seeing. What even. He had started to respond because he hadn't spoken to Nanao in far too long but...WHAT EVEN.]}
