It hurt, yes, but it wasn't so much the physical pain as much as it was the, uhm. How do I describe it...
It felt like the most intense bout of heartbreak that I had ever felt, and I wanted nothing more than to be held, but it fades, and then there's nothing. Life ends, the soul separates from the body, and you're dead.
Being dead doesn't hurt, and dying - hell, I guess I'd describe my actual death as peaceful, even if the moments leading up to it were the absolute opposite.
